SHBA-ja, për shumicën absolute të shqiptarëve, është miku dhe aleati më i madh i tyre, shpresa se nuk janë vetëm në këtë botë të trazuar. Populli ynë është përjetë mirënjohës për mbështetjen e dhënë për shpëtimin e Shqipërisë nga copëtimi përfundimtar në vitin 1919 dhe për çlirimin e Kosovës në vitin 1999.Populli shqiptar ka nevojë për ndihmën tuaj, pasi ndihet i braktisur dhe i shtypur nga pushteti. Kur populli ngrihet kundër qeverisë, kjo e fundit duhet të largohet, pasi populli është pronari i shtetit, i pushtetit dhe i pronës publike. Qeveritë janë vetëm përfaqësuese të popullit, por kjo nuk ndodh në vende si Shqipëria, me një të kaluar diktatoriale, e cila ka krijuar edhe një kulturë të tillë politike, dhe politikanët tanë nuk e kuptojnë këtë gjë, sado t’u flasësh. Pasi hipin në pushtet, abuzojnë me të dhe nuk duan të zbresin. Ata nuk e kuptojnë se jemi në demokraci dhe pushteti i përket popullit.
Kjo është kriza e dytë e rëndë që po kalon Shqipëria gjatë këtyre 35 viteve. Është një situatë e ardhur si pasojë e përqendrimit të politikës dhe të pushtetit në një dorë të vetme, atë të kryeministrit aktual. Faktorët që kanë ndikuar në këtë shpërthim të protestës dhe rebelimit në vend janë:
1. Përqendrimi i pushtetit në një dorë të vetme. Ky proces filloi me ndryshimet kushtetuese të vitit 2008 dhe vazhdoi deri tek votimi i fundit për ndarjen territoriale. Ne nuk jemi më një republikë parlamentare, por një shtet i një individi, që e sheh vendin tonë si pronën e vet personale.
2. Në Shqipëri nuk ka zgjedhje të lira dhe populli nuk mund ta ndryshojë qeverinë përmes votës.
3. Në Shqipëri nuk ka ekonomi të lirë dhe populli është i përjashtuar nga mundësitë për të bërë biznes. Bizneset e fuqishme në vend janë klientë të qeverisë dhe kanë krijuar, me lejen e saj, monopole në treg.
4. Financat publike u shpërndahen, përmes korrupsionit, vetëm pak duarve. Skandale të shumta janë bërë publike, ku dyshohet se janë përvetësuar miliarda euro. Në vend që këto para t’u shërbenin qytetarëve, ato përfundojnë, përmes korrupsionit, në duart e një grushti njerëzish.
5. Prona publike dhe shtetërore u jepet në sasi të mëdha njerëzve të dyshimtë, pa dokumente të rregullta pronësie, pa bazë të qartë ligjore dhe pa përfitim për shtetin dhe popullin shqiptar.
6. Si pasojë e kësaj gjendjeje, populli është varfëruar tej mase, sepse paratë që duhet të shkonin për të gjithë qytetarët përfundojnë, përmes korrupsionit, në duart e një grushti njerëzish. Popullit i mbetet vetëm rruga e emigrimit, pasi në vend nuk mbështeten as bujqësia, as industria dhe as sektorët e tjerë prodhues. Jetohet kryesisht me ndërtime, çmimet e të cilave janë të papërballueshme edhe për një amerikan.
Nga viti 1991 deri më sot, politika ka dëbuar nga vendi rreth 2 milionë shqiptarë. Studentët janë ngritur në rebelim, pasi nuk duan të ikin nga atdheu, por duan të jetojnë këtu dhe nuk kanë mundësi. Populli nuk sheh më asnjë rrugëzgjidhje, përveç revoltës për të ndryshuar gjendjen, ndërsa qeveria po e shtyp dhe po e dhunon me të gjitha mjetet. Në këto momente kaq të vështira që po kalon vendi, populli shqiptar ka nevojë për ndihmën tuaj. Studentët po rrihen barbarisht nga forcat policore dhe persona civilë të paidentifikuar. Këto pamje dhe raportime janë tronditëse dhe kërkojnë reagim e hetim të menjëhershëm.
Populli shqiptar është populli më i lashtë në Evropë, para grekëve dhe para romakëve. Populli shqiptar i ka dhënë botës figura të rëndësishme historike, si Aleksandri i Madh, Pirro, Konstandini, Diokleciani, Justiniani, Skënderbeu, Mehmet Aliu etj., si dhe perandorë e gjeneralë të njohur të Romës e të Bizantit, si dhe me dhjetëra vezirë e gjeneralët më të mirë të Perandorisë Osmane.
Populli shqiptar nuk e meriton situatën në të cilën ndodhet. Ai është sovrani dhe burimi i pushtetit shtetëror, por sot ky sovranitet duket sikur është uzurpuar nga një politikë 35-vjeçare që, sipas shqetësimeve të qytetarëve, nuk u përgjigjet kërkesave të tyre. Kjo gjendje ka ndikuar në emigrimin e rreth dy milionë shqiptarëve.
Sot kanë dalë në rrugë të rinjtë e Shqipërisë. Ju lutem, mos heshtni! Ndihmojini të rinjtë e këtij vendi të kërkojnë një Shqipëri të lirë nga diktatura, korrupsioni dhe vjedhja e pasurisë publike.
Të rinjtë e këtij vendi e meritojnë një Shqipëri normale. Ju lutem, ndërhyni përmes kanaleve diplomatike, pasi gjendja po përkeqësohet dhe kjo mund të sjellë pasoja të rënda për ta. Për një pjesë të madhe të qytetarëve, çlirimi i vendit nga një politikë që ata e konsiderojnë të korruptuar, shihet si një çështje jetike.
Populli shqiptar ka nevojë për ndihmë, për drejtësi dhe për një zgjidhje politike. Ju lutemi, mos e lini vetëm në këtë moment të vështirë!

Appeal to the United States and the U.S. Embassy in Tirana
For the overwhelming majority of Albanians, the United States is their greatest friend and ally, and the hope that they are not alone in this troubled world. Our people will always be grateful for the support given to save Albania from its final partition in 1919 and for the liberation of Kosovo in 1999.
The Albanian people need your help because they feel abandoned and oppressed by those in power. When the people rise up against a government, that government should step down, because the people are the owners of the state, its power, and public property. Governments are merely representatives of the people. However, this does not happen in countries such as Albania, whose dictatorial past has also created a political culture of this kind. Our politicians do not understand this, no matter how much you explain it to them. Once they come to power, they abuse it and refuse to step down. They do not understand that we live in a democracy and that the power belongs to the people.
This is the second serious crisis that Albania has faced during these 35 years. It is a situation caused by the concentration of political power and authority in the hands of a single person: the current prime minister. The factors that have contributed to this outbreak of protests and rebellion in the country are as follows:
1. The concentration of power in the hands of a single individual. This process began with the constitutional changes of 2008 and continued through the most recent vote on territorial division. We are no longer a parliamentary republic, but a state belonging to one individual, who sees our country as his personal property.
2. There are no free elections in Albania, and the people cannot change the government through their votes.
3. There is no free economy in Albania, and the people are excluded from opportunities to do business. Powerful businesses in the country are clients of the government and have established monopolies in the market with its permission.
4. Public finances are distributed through corruption into the hands of only a few. Numerous scandals have been made public, involving allegations that billions of euros have been misappropriated. Instead of serving the citizens, this money ends up, through corruption, in the hands of a small group of people.
5. Large amounts of public and state-owned property are handed over to questionable individuals without proper ownership documents, without a clear legal basis, and without any benefit to the Albanian state and people.
6. As a consequence of this situation, the people have become extremely impoverished, because the money that should benefit all citizens ends up, through corruption, in the hands of a small group of people. Emigration has become the only option left to the people, since neither agriculture, nor industry, nor other productive sectors receive support in the country. The economy relies primarily on construction, with prices that are unaffordable even for an American.
From 1991 until today, politics has driven approximately two million Albanians out of their country. Students have risen in rebellion because they do not want to leave their homeland; they want to live here, but they have no opportunity to do so. The people see no other solution except to protest and revolt in order to change the situation, while the government is suppressing and abusing them by every means available. At this extremely difficult time for our country, the Albanian people need your help. Children and students are being brutally beaten by the police and by unidentified civilians. These images and reports are shocking and demand an immediate response and investigation.
The Albanian people are the oldest people in Europe, predating the Greeks and the Romans. The Albanian people have given the world important historical figures such as Alexander the Great, Pyrrhus, Constantine, Diocletian, Justinian, Skanderbeg, and Mehmet Ali, among others, as well as renowned emperors and generals of Rome and Byzantium, and dozens of viziers and some of the finest generals of the Ottoman Empire.
The Albanian people do not deserve the situation in which they find themselves. They are the sovereign people and the source of state power, yet today this sovereignty appears to have been usurped by a 35-year political establishment which, according to citizens’ concerns, does not respond to their demands. This situation has contributed to the emigration of approximately two million of Albanians.
Today, the young people of Albania have taken to the streets. Please, do not remain silent! Help the young people of this country seek an Albania free from dictatorship, corruption, and the theft of public wealth.
The young people of this country deserve a normal Albania. Please intervene through diplomatic channels, as the situation is deteriorating and could have serious consequences for them. For a large part of the population, liberating the country from a political establishment that they consider it as corrupted, is seen as a matter of vital importance.
The Albanian people need help, justice, and a political solution. We ask you not to abandon them at this difficult moment!
